E-ngage Annual Conference
The annual E-ngage project manager’s conference was held at the E-ngage offices on Monday 3rd June. With 25 representatives of 12 or more projects the day proved to be an exciting and encouraging event. Among the presenters Graham Rodrick of the Australian Communications and Media Authority was able to take part and share the way in which Cybersmart Detectives is beginning to make a big impact in the education of children in online safety.
Rachel Davis, who is at the helm of Talkingshop was able to introduce the conference to the wider aspects of her work. The opportunity of making an impact using the work of older students was highlighted by Chris Turton with examples of some of the work from the video and animation workshop.
In the afternoon Paul Hutton shared his ideas for using E-ngage technology in literacy using the example of a project he has put together based on the book “There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom” by Louis Sachar.
The day ended with planning session on where the various projects might go from here, with plans already being discussed for the 2009 conference.
